What is a brocante?

A  secondhand shop, junk store, garage sale and flea market. While there are other French words for these places – vide-grenier, magasin de seconde main, marché aux puces – we’ve lovingly adopted the word “brocant-ing” to describe Tina’s excursions throughout the junque world in Europe.
